New Life In Christ

How To Receive New Life In Christ

1.    Every one of us have angered God because of our sins.
  • a.    “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3:23)
  • b.     “There is no one who is righteous, not even one.”  (Romans 3:10)
2.    God will judge, reject and punish each of us for our sin.
  • a.    “The soul who sins is the one who will die.”  (Ezekiel 18:20)
  • b.    “For the wages of sin is death.”  (Romans 6:23)
3.    We cannot escape our sins.
  • a.    “Behold, you have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out.”  (Numbers 32:23)
  • b.    “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”  (Galatians 6:7)
4.    God loves you very much and does not want you to punish you for your sins.
  • a.    “The Lord is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance”  (2 Peter 3:9)
  • b.    “But God demonstrated His love toward us (you), in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)
5.    God has provided us with salvation from judgment and death through Christ.
  • a.    “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him should not parish, but have eternal life.”  (John 3:16)
  • b.    “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.”  (Acts 16:31)
6.    We must repent of our sin and turn to Christ.
  • a.    “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
  • b.     “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”  (Acts 2:38)
7.    We must confess Jesus to be our Savior and our Lord.
  • a.    “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man belies, resulting in righteousness and with the mouth he confesses resulting in salvation.”  (Romans 10:9 & 10)
  • b.    “Everyone therefore who shall confess Me (Jesus) before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.”  (Matthew 10:32)
8.    God will give us new life in Christ when we repent and confess Jesus as Lord.
  • a.    “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, new thing have become new.”  (2 Corinthians 5:17)
  • b.    “He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus).”  (2 Corinthians 5:21)
